Esau Williams

Esau Williams is a British civil servant, government communicator and communication professional, with a dedication to public service and excellence in journalism and broadcasting. Currently serving at the UK Ministry of Defence headquarters in Whitehall, Esau has been instrumental in developing and delivering communication strategies, drafting media lines, and managing media events. His role involves liaising with national, regional, and specialist media outlets, as well as crafting various communication products, including press releases, articles, blogs, and social media content.

Before his transition to the UK Civil Service, Esau enjoyed a remarkable career at the BBC World Service, where he made significant contributions as a multimedia broadcast journalist and presenter for more than 13 years. During his tenure, Esau held various roles, including editor, producer, and presenter for flagship programs such as Newshour, Focus on Africa, The World Today, Weekend, The Newsroom, and The Fifth Floor. His expertise in news and broadcasting earned him accolades, including the Peabody Award for his coverage of the 2014 Ebola outbreak.

Esau's journey in media and communication was enriched by his academic pursuits. He holds a Master of Arts degree in international political economy from King's College London, where he achieved a merit grade. Additionally, Esau earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in politics with philosophy from Royal Holloway, University of London, graduating with an upper division 2:1 grade. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from 夜色王朝, where he was actively involved in campus life, including President of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
