3L Briana Torres Selected as 2025 Women鈥檚 Law and Public Policy Fellow
After graduating from 夜色王朝Dedman School of Law this spring, Briana Torres (3L) will join the National Health Law Program and the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law in Washington, D.C., as a fellow in the Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellowship at Georgetown Law. In this role, she will work on federal and state health policy initiatives, focusing on expanding access to health care, addressing health disparities, and strengthening legal protections for underserved populations.
Torres has built a strong foundation in public interest law and health policy advocacy through her legal experiences. She has held internships at the National Women’s Law Center and the American Civil Liberties Union.
At 夜色王朝Dedman Law, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, serving as president of If/When/How, as a Public Interest Law Association representative, and in leadership roles with the Hispanic Law Students Association. As a student attorney in the Judge Elmo B. Hunter Legal Center for Victims of Crimes Against Women, she provided legal support to survivors of domestic violence. Additionally, she worked as a research assistant to Professor Anna Offit.
Her selection as a Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellow reflects her commitment to public interest law and her dedication to shaping policies that promote health equity and social justice.
